Privacy Policy

The short version: your fitness data — profile, plans, weight/strength logs, ratings — is stored only in this browser, on this device. FuelIQ has no user database and no server-side copy of it. What follows is the detailed, complete version.

What we store, and where

Your profile, generated plans, weight and strength logs, workout/meal ratings, XP, and app preferences (theme, connected AI key) are saved using your browser's local storage. This data:

  • Never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it (Settings → Export Data).
  • Is not visible to us, sold, or shared with any third party.
  • Is deleted if you clear your browser's site data, or via Settings → Clear All Data.
  • Does not sync between devices or browsers (there being no account/server to sync through).

Cookies and local storage

FuelIQ does not use traditional tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage to keep your profile, plans, logs, preferences, and AI key on your device. This storage is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time from Settings → Clear All Data or by clearing site data in your browser.

Google Drive backup

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, your data is written to a file in your own Google Drive (the appDataFolder area, which is not visible in your normal Drive view). This happens directly from your browser — nothing is sent to FuelIQ's servers.

  • You control the file and can revoke the app's access to it from your Google account at any time.
  • You can add a passphrase before the data leaves your browser; without it, the file is not encrypted.
  • The backup file is governed by Google's own privacy and data policies while it sits in your Drive.

Your rights and choices

Because your data is stored only on your device, you have full control over it:

  • Export a copy of your data at any time from Settings → Export Data.
  • Delete all app data from Settings → Clear All Data.
  • Revoke your Google Gemini API key access from Google AI Studio at any time.

AI plan generation

FuelIQ supports "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK): if you connect your own Google Gemini API key in AI Settings, your profile data is sent directly from your browser to Google's Gemini API to generate your plan — it does not pass through FuelIQ's servers at all. That exchange is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.

A verified Gemini API key is required to generate plans. Without one, FuelIQ will not send your profile anywhere — you'll be prompted to add a key in AI Settings first.

Payments

Subscription payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.

Error/crash reporting

If a technical error occurs, a minimal error report (the error message, a stack trace, the page URL, and browser type) may be sent to our error-monitoring endpoint, if one is configured for this deployment. This never includes your fitness data, profile, or plans — only what's needed to diagnose a bug.

Notifications

If you enable reminder notifications, they're generated and shown entirely by your own browser — no notification content is sent to or generated by our servers.

Data protection and compliance

FuelIQ is built on a privacy-by-design model. We deliberately do not collect or hold your personal information on our servers. By keeping data in your browser — and, optionally, in your own Google Drive under your control — we minimise what we process and store.

  • Data minimisation: we only ask for information needed to generate your plan. We do not ask for names, email addresses or Google account details beyond what the OAuth flow provides.
  • Purpose limitation: your data is used only to run the app for you. We do not sell, share, profile or use it for advertising.
  • User control: you can export, edit, delete or back up your data at any time from Settings. Because the data is on your device, you do not need to ask us to delete it.
  • Right to erasure: Settings → Clear All Data removes everything from this browser immediately.
  • This approach aligns with the core principles of the GDPR, UK GDPR and similar privacy frameworks, but you remain responsible for the device and accounts where you choose to store your data.

Children

FuelIQ is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change and the update will be noted in the changelog.
